Perhaps it was Gen. Douglas MacArthur who said after viewing Hiroshima after the Bomb, “This changes everything but our politics!” and “This is the end of world wars. The next one will be suicide”
In other words, the grand experiment of life becoming Self Conscious and CHOOSING the best adapted for the next generation is in serious danger of being terminated. The “traits that made us great” (aggression, ambition, competition, weapons invention, cunning deceit, etc) are systemic in our politics and economics. Our technology has so far outstripped our wisdom there may not be enough time for it to catch up 🥲
I think the view you expressed is too pessimistic, because all the traits you mentioned mostly occur outside the highest evolutionary level, not inside. So even Hitler was nice to his family and his tribe of Nazis (most of the time, at least when things were going well for them). Consciousness adapts to circumstances (with proximate behaviors and traits), and aggression (and the others) is not as useful inside a well functioning level, but is useful outside it.
From this point of view, if we want to achieve harmony, the wise thing to do is emerge higher levels all the way to the whole earth, while keeping individual freedom, and not skipping any levels.
Oh, yeah, I've seen that video before. Pretty hard-hitting and dystopic, but also realistic. I hope that trend reverses towards individual alienation and the attention economy. But it won't happen magically on its own, nor I believe will it happen with a miraculous shift of individual consciousness or being saved by Gods or aliens. We need a few people who can rebuild intermediate levels that meet our individual needs better than capitalism or socialism (basically the chaos and dystopic attractors...)
My strategy is promoting religious, ritual consumption of Magic mushrooms (Vitamin Psylli) for rapid, radical expanding of ego identity from limited sense of self to Gaia citizenship and Cosmic Christ Consciousness. Without the fear of death, with the KNOWING that I am a spiritual being having an earthly experience, connecting, compassion, sharing and harmony become natural. Traditional means of despotic regimes to control their kingdoms become useless. As with the fall of the Soviet Union, it is a bloodless revolution! We must interrupt the hypnotic hum, black out the Grid, reject the Official Narrative, challenge the dominant paradigm and wake up the slumbering Sheeple to see the dawning of global connectivity 🤗🌈☮️❤️
After we all love each other unconditionally we’ll still need politics, economics, resources, transportation, workers and managers. But ego defense and aggrandizement won’t interfere 😇
The lesson from game theory is that even if there is one free rider (selfish in some way, could be elite, could be a psychopath, etc), even if everyone else loves each other and has achieved "Gaia"or "Christ" consciousness, certain systems (like the ones without intermediate levels) are UNSTABLE to small perturbations like free riding. So it's not enough for "everyone" to love each other and ignore the economic organization of our earth. And moreover it's not necessary for "everyone" to love each other (especially given the limitations of our cognitive abilities studied by the likes of Dunbar) if the economic systems are well-designed (proper nesting)...
I forgot to ask you what you think of Steve Bannon being into psychedelics. I doubt he has achieved anything like the level of love you are promoting. I don't know his motivation. Certain people don't react to psychedelics the way we might expect, with opening their minds and hearts more.
Although I can’t claim to have read every word of your thesis, it strikes me as having a mathematical basis applied to human social organization. I wonder how useful it will be in predicting human behavior? It seems like you could model it with biological organisms but the variable human motivations
make its application questionable when trying to advance social organizations, in terms of satisfying the needs and aspirations of all the members.
Humans are the most plastic of all animals. Today we have children learning to be ultimately narcissistic as well as remote tribal children learning traditional attitudes of considering their tribe/ band/ clan / family equal to their individual point of view. This POV strongly predicts their behavior in social contexts regardless of “resource sharing”, efficiency, communication, defense, etc.
I wonder too how useful it would be as a model of human behavior, and even of less complex systems, and I didn't mean to project hubris. One thing that has bothered my about current sociological and economic models is that they usually assume certain things about how society is organized (based on what's been tried so far, or maybe even more specifically, what has been tried since the agricultural revolution), that are too limiting. Because of plasticity, some behaviors can change depending on the social organization. And I hope the model can improve, when tested by experiments both in biological and social (and even cognitive) experiments. That's one of the differences between religion or philosophy, and science--the continual testing of models, and the discarding of ones that don't fit experiments--science is evolution in action.
But you are mistaken in thinking that my model is BASED on biological systems. It is currently a mathematical model that fits both biological and human system data, and all the biology stuff presented above is for didactic purposes only. I can't present the math here, but you can read it if you are interested in the past (and hopefully future) peer-reviewed biology literature. If it were based on biological systems, there would be no possiblitity for a third attractor. The most common stuation in biology is the dystopian attractor, with the more rare chaotic attractor happening when free riders take over.
I agree with you about trends towards individualism and even narcissism, contrasting with the ethos of most tribal peoples. But as an evolutionist, I see attitudes as proximate mechanisms that are either selected for or not, at different evolutionary levels (individual, family, tribe, federation, etc).. This is still better than most post-agricultural empires, who only practiced it up to the level of family, and now even that is disintegrating in our attention economy.
And I forgot to mention, that the native american Iroquois were practicing proper nesting all the way up to a confederacy of tribes, but not beyond that, and that most other native peoples (including extinct ones), as far as I know, only practiced it as far up as the band level. Still it's better than most post-agricultural empires, which only practiced it up to the family level, and in the present empire even that is disintegrating with our attention economy.
I’m curious how you explain the Spanish domination of the Aztec and Inca civilizations who were functionally better adapted to their environment, stable and probably providing for the fundamental needs of all their people in every way than the European culture.
The simplest explanation is from Jared Diamond: Guns, Germs and Steel. If one is not terribly maladapted to one's environment, it could take hundreds of years to go extinct. However, a much faster process exists of being outcompeted by another culture that has better weapons, better immunity to germs that yours is not immune to that it brings with it (unintentionally), and stronger materials for building and agricultural tools. This happens even if latter culture is not as well adapted to their environment. And also humans are especially aggressive niche producers so they can, to a limited extent, change their environment to be better adapted to it.

Big Business and the Police State encourage narcism and discourage class consciousness and solidarity because it makes the Masses easier to manage🤪

Won't get there without intermediate levels, in my opinion. But I know mystics think we can skip all those pesky intermediate levels?

That said, more love can't hurt and will probably help!
